Sadam Hussein is Toast
Just one of many many brutal dicatators of the 20th and 21st centuries, Sadam Hussein has been executed by hanging prior to 6:00 AM Baghdad time today, according to several unconfirmed reports. Good riddance.

You'll get to read gems like "this is tragic, justified evil... just tragic" or "Saddam ruled a society of ancient peoples brutally and relatively effectively. Our leadership rules our heterogenous population with superficial civility and underlying cruelty, ineffective at all but civilain control." So let me get this straight. Saddam was effective but cruel; the US is superficially civil but otherwise cruel. God help us.
God help us indeed. I'll pass on this post, becasue I don't want to projectile vomit on my monitor. I remember seeing these Iraqi merchants who got free prosthetic hands in the US, because Saddam had chopped theirs off because they had supposedly engaged in currency manipulation by exchanging curency at unofficial rates (which they hadn't). Unverified but, a coworker told me that Saddam's younger son would grab a bride away from a wedding if he liked her looks, rape her and she'd disappear. Very effective leadership...
Didn't mean to give you an upset stomach. Your coworker's right- I've read similar stories about Saddam's baby boy. You hit it on the head when you said, "One despot out of how many actually met some justice." It's rare when one of these guys gets their just desserts. More of them should.
