Crazy Open House

In Bergen County New Jersey, one of the few places in America where you can still get a knockdown for $600,000 on 3/4 of an acre, my wife and I went to just such an open house.

"The value is in the land," chortled the realtor as we walk through a Katrina-esque disaster 2500 miles or so east of New Orleans.

All of this was fine, but I noticed through the patio sliders, that one of the owner's cats had caught a baby rabbit, ripped its head off and was chewing on its neck with blood and guts spewing out.

"It shows beautifully..."

Nice! I bet the realtor didn't have many words for that. : )

Actually we talked about it quite a bit. Nothing she could do really. The house was such a wreck, it fit perfectly...

Nothing special that I remember, just a totally destroyed house, on a great lot, in a great town, at an obscene price.
